Rush Released(Formerly Hotdisc)

February 2008 - Issue No. 110

The latest issue continues the good mix of Country Music from both sides of the Atlantic. Stuart has included some well-known names from the US as well as the usual selection of artists who are new to the scene. Highlights of this edition for me included the following tracks:-

Gene Watson and Vince Gill - "Let Me Be The First To Go."

Two great artists on a superb track taken from the equally superb Gene Watson album "In A Perfect World"

Gretchen Peters - "This Town."

Another superb offering from this vastly underrated US singer/songwriter who has recently toured the UK.

Rodney Atkins - "Cleaning This Gun(Come On In Boy)"

The latest single already climbing the US Country Charts, from this artist who provided 2007's most played track.

Stu Stevens - "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife."

Stu disappeared from the British scene many years ago, which was a great shame particularly when he sings songs like this one.

Bryan Chalker - "High Noon."

Another stalwart of the British scene now in semi-retirement. Bryan's deep tones always provide excellent value.

A long-time mainstay of the British Country Music scene, Stuart Cameron's Hotdisc was re-launched as "Rush Released" in January 2008. For the past nine years this enterprising venture has brought the best of UK and US acts on a compilation available to the Country Music industry in Europe.
The remainder of issue 110 provides excellent value and I was particularly impressed by some of those names new to me including Kate Sansing and Mike Aiken.
